INTRODUCTION
Gathering leads is essential for any growing business, and HubSpot makes it easy to capture leads and organize them through forms and landing pages. Whether you’re trying to grow your email list, promote an event or turn visitors into customers, HubSpot’s tools can help build meaningful connections that drive sales.
Here is how to capture leads in HubSpot using forms and landing pages.
SET UP WEB FORMS EFFECTIVELY
According to HubSpot research, 74% of marketers are using web forms for lead generation, and 49.7% of marketers say that web forms are the highest converting lead generation tool. You can use forms for different purposes, including completing an order or collecting and tracking a customer’s personal information.
First, you should know that there is no cookie-cutter design for web forms. A well-designed form shows your potential customers that your brand is helpful, thoughtful, professional and tech-savvy. Best practices for web form design include keeping things simple and straightforward.
To create a form in HubSpot, click the marketing tab on the left side of your dashboard and go to “Forms.” You can either search for a template or start from scratch.
When creating your form, include only the most crucial information you need and leave out any unnecessary fields and questions. Use a one-column layout as it’s easier to follow, understand, complete and submit for your visitors.
When thinking of your fields, arrange them from easiest to hardest. Once someone begins filling out your form, they become less likely to leave your page. Use inline form field validation, which reviews the form’s information in real time. Also, make sure the web form looks good and works well on mobile.
CREATE LANDING PAGESÂ
The form you create will typically reside on a dedicated landing page for your campaign. For example, the landing page could have an offer (e.g., download a whitepaper or e-book) and/or be the destination of an online ad.
Once the user fills out the form on the landing page, they are taken to a thank-you page where they can accept the offer. These types of campaigns can help increase the number of qualified leads for your company.
To create a landing page in HubSpot, click on the “Content” tab on the left side of your dashboard and click on “Landing Pages.” Similar to the forms, you can use a template or create one from scratch.
To add a form to a landing page, click on the + (Add Modules) and scroll down to “Forms and Buttons.” Then drag and drop where you want the form to be on the landing page. From here, you’ll be able to add in the content and style of the form itself.
