I have been really impressed with the Twitter coverage of the protests at the State Capitol. Social media puts the power of broadcasting in the hands of the consumers, and it really shows. Over the past week, I’ve enjoyed reading tweets and looking at tweet photos of the rally from both citizens and media alike.
Getting news this way is so much faster than hoping for updates on a website or even watching TV news. The biggest catch is how quickly unconfirmed news/rumors circulate. For example, last Saturday many people were tweeting about Sarah Palin and Bill Clinton being here, when in fact neither came.
