We moved this week after calling 222 N. Midvale Blvd. (the Jefferson building) home for the past 10 years and four months. The need for more housing in Madison led to two office buildings a few hundred feet from us being demolished for apartments in 2021. Now, our building and the adjacent building will be demolished for apartments.
I will miss our former office mainly for its location near Hilldale. It was nice to be not too far from downtown and to be walking distance to places like the Great Dane, Metcalfe’s, the post office and Target. We even hosted a Wisconsin Film Festival party at our office back in the year in which most of the movies were played at the former Sundance theater.
Fortunately, there are some perks of our new location located by the YMCA West. We’re just off the Beltline Highway, and we’re still close to plenty of shopping and dining. In addition, our new office building has been completely renovated and fixed up, a welcome relief since our previous building had numerous heating and cooling issues. We’ll also have faster Internet speeds, an issue with the other building due to infrastructure.
